Volunteering

Rogers Ranch is known league-wide for its professional staff, organized meets, and hospitality. The Rapids are consistently recognized as one of the best teams in the league and its pool is a great place to host a swim meet. This is due to the fact that we have a core group of parents that consistently volunteer and make all the swimmers have a great time. The continued success of our swim team is possible only because of our parents.

PLEASE prepare to VOLUNTEER in some capacity for all meets.

Beginner Swimmers Try-Out

HOW IT WORKS

Beginner Swimmers will be evaluated on their ability to swim the length of the pool without adult assistance. If you are uncertain or "on the fence", we encourage your little swimmer to show up and give it their best shot (some of our neighborhood's greatest swimmers started here, too!) In addition, Coaches will be in the water in case they need a boost.

If they are unable to swim the length of the pool without assistance yet show potential (and determination!), they will be invited to the first two weeks of practice. The goal during this trial period is to work towards "meet readiness", meaning they are capable of joining the team and participating in the first Meet of the season. At the end of those two weeks, the Head Coach will notify the committee and parents whether they feel that standard has been reached.

Team Communication

The best source for team information is this Rogers Ranch Rapids website.

League information is at aaaa-sa.org under the Summer League menu. Some of the data in this memo is from the AASSL Rule book which can be viewed or downloaded from this site.

The best way to contact the coaching staff is via e-mail unless it is an emergency in which case the phone is fine.
